Are you feeling unsure how to support your child through the challenges they’re facing? Or perhaps you’re navigating your own struggles and wondering if it’s time to reach out for support? You don’t have to figure it out alone. Together, we can explore what’s getting in the way and find an approach that fits you and your family.
Asking for help can feel like a big step. At my counseling practice in the North Dallas area, I provide a warm, supportive, and affirming space where children, teens, and adults can feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are.
I believe therapy is not about changing who you are—it’s about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, building on your strengths, and developing the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience. Every person’s journey is different, and I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique experiences, goals, and needs.
My Approach and Training
Providing meaningful support to my clients begins with understanding that every person and family brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and challenges into therapy. I have pursued extensive education and specialized training to better support children, teens, adults, and families on their individual paths toward growth and healing.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Duke University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in play therapy from University of North Texas. During my graduate training, I developed additional skills in incorporating expressive arts into counseling and completed an internship under the supervision of an art therapist. This experience deepened my understanding of how creative expression can provide meaningful opportunities for clients to communicate, process emotions, and explore their experiences in ways that feel natural and authentic.
I further specialized in supporting children and families by pursuing the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, I believe that supporting a child involves supporting the entire family system. Children thrive when they feel understood and supported, and parents deserve tools, guidance, and encouragement to feel confident in their ability to connect with and support their child.
Families seek counseling for many different reasons. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, behavioral concerns, academic challenges, family transitions, or simply looking for a supportive space for growth, I am passionate about helping individuals and families develop greater understanding, connection, and resilience.
A Little About Me
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, partner, and dogs. When the Texas weather allows, you’ll often find me exploring a trail with my dogs. On hotter days or during storms, I’m just as happy settling in with a good book. I never quite mastered my football fandom despite living in Texas, but I’m always cheering for the Dallas Stars.
Whether therapy happens through play, conversation, creativity, or expressive arts, I would be honored to walk alongside you, your child, and your family as you navigate challenges and create meaningful change. My hope is to provide a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward a more peaceful and fulfilling future.
If you’re interested in learning more about my practice or scheduling an appointment, I invite you to reach out. Taking the first step toward support can be difficult, but you don’t have to take that step alone.
For the Kids
Hi there! I’m Lindsey 👋
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, which is a fancy way of saying I help kids and teens feel better using talking, playing, drawing, and other creative ways that make sense for them.
If you’re here, something in life probably feels stressful, confusing, or just really hard right now—like big emotions, friendship issues, school stress, or things changing at home. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. My job is to help you figure out things like worry, sadness, anger, or stress—and to help you learn new ways to handle them so they don’t feel so overwhelming.
In our sessions, you get to be yourself. You may have seen how adults talk in therapy, and we can talk too. But we might also play games, use toys, or draw to figure things out together at your own pace. There’s no “right” way to do therapy here.
My goal is to help you feel more confident, understood, and strong—both at home and at school. Sometimes I meet with parents to help them help you, but whatever you do or say in our time together is yours.
